Shawn, Bev, and Family

Welcome to the twinhouse! Shawn and I were married in 1997 and have been blessed (yes, blessed!) with 2 sets of twins. Alexander and Benjamin were born in 2002 and Hannah and Jacob joined the family in 2004. We created this blog to keep friends and family updated on the excitement in the twinhouse.

Further adventures in Germany

We continue to enjoy our time in Germany and have been visiting some sights and enjoying the lovely, warm weather. We went to Leipzig in the north-east to visit some friends a few days ago and had a lovely long weekend with them. Here are some photos:
Leipzig is where Back spent many years as Cantor at this church

A beautiful park in the center of the city
the children with their friends on one of the many lovely bridges over the river that runs through Leipzig
Some monkeys at the Leipzig zoo!!
Now for some photos of back "home" in Tubingen. This is a beautiful fountain in front of a beautiful building in the Aldstadt
We went on a stocherkahn which literally means a stick boat....like they have in Venice! Not quite as romantic but great fun!
Our view as we went down (or up...not sure!) the Neckar River which runs right through Tubingen
This one is back in Leipzig eating some authentic, German pretzels
And at an ice cream shop (one of many we have frequented!) in Leipzig
Our time in Germany is running out but we continue to enjoy nice, warm weather and beautiful scenery! We head off to Frankfurt next week to spend a few days before heading back to Edinburgh where we will welcome some family from Canada for the month of August.

Tubingen Germany

Well, here are some pictures finally! I am saddened to report that these are being posted from an internet cafe as our beloved Mac laptop has died and we will wait until we return to the UK to get another. However, there is a great internet cafe in the town which I am able to get to every now and then. So here are some pics:
The courtyard of Tubingen castle

The boys wanted to dress exactly the same the other day (even down to the same socks). I have always avoided dressing them the same but I have to admit it is pretty cute!

The 4 musketeers walking along the path behind our house on the way to a terrific swimming complex which we have visited almost daily
This is just one of the 3 childrens pools and there are more big ones with water slides and lap lanes.
At the entrance to the Tubingen castle

Shawn and the boys playing football in the backyard

Jacob on the slide in the backyard
The seesaw and sand box in the backyard
Tubingen across the Neckar River
A present from dad when we arrived at our new flat...a full sized chocolate football complete with red and yellow cards and whistle!
That is all for now but hopefully I will have lots more in the near future as we are heading to tour the city of Leipzig this weekend which is in the north east (We are in the southwest). Keep watching for more adventures in Germany!!
